Derrick Rose lands potential $260M shoe deal.
When Derrick Rose signed a $94 million extension
with the Bulls in December, he turned to his mom and said, “We finally
made it.”
But things have gotten even better for the Bulls’
superstar with the report early Saturday that he had signed a 14-year,
$260 million shoe deal with adidas.
The contract could be the second largest in the
history of such endorsements, said csnchicago.com, which broke the
story. That would be second only to Rose’s predecessor on the Bulls —
Michael Jordan.
Rose, who grew up in impoverished Englewood on the
South Side, didn’t discuss the numbers Saturday morning in Orlando,
where he is preparing to play in the NBA All-Star game Sunday night. But
he said he was happy to have the deal done.
